On Wednesday, Governor Brian Kemp signed a law permitting state judges to disqualify district attorneys from cases. This legislation comes amid Donald Trump's ongoing election interference trial, which Judge Scott McAfee is overseeing.
Judge McAfee has expressed that he intends to issue a ruling regarding Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis's role in the case. Willis has charged Trump and others with conspiring to overturn the election results.
The hearing held in Atlanta on Friday focused on the efforts to disqualify Willis from the case. After reviewing the evidence, Judge McAfee indicated that he would rule on the matter in due course.
